Generally, the electric current attracts positive ions to the negatively charged plates, whereas negative ions are drawn to the aluminium component, which serves as the positive anode. The interaction of the aluminium surface and negatively charged ions forms a barrier layer, which is known as the surface layer that makes components corrosion resistant in the aluminium anodizing process.
